EPIC FAIL! |
I did, however, grow up in a creative environment with two of the southeast’s best seamstresses/fashion gurus. I think the school of life counts for something right?
fash·ion·is·taNoun/ˌfaSHəˈnēstə/
1. A designer of haute couture.
2. A devoted follower of fashion
So without further ado, here are the top six reasons why you might not be a fashionista…
6. If you think that you must wear something red with those new pair of red suede pumps you just purchased and to top it off you want to wear red, plastic jewelry to match.
That’s too much effort! Try using coordinating colors to mix it up a bit. Or go for a monochromatic look. Just be sure everything is around the same tone.
5. You mistake ‘Louboutin’ for ‘Louis Vuitton’ because it sounds the same! Negative…epic fail! Just go sit in a corner.
4. You follow trends religiously. You bought a maxi dress in every color and print available as soon as the trend hit mass market!
Doo doo doot doo doo doot CRASH! (in the tune of the Super Mario Brother’s song)
Please limit yourself to a few trends per season! Geesh.
3. You enjoy wearing fashion with the brand name plastered all over it because you want everyone to know. C’mon son! Money can't buy style.
2. You won’t wear vintage because you think it’s disgusting to wear recycled clothing. No it’s not gross, there are cleaning methods! Dirtiness is not the issue but OCD might be. Head to your nearest psych immediately!
Vintage pieces are one of a kind, which means most likely NO ONE else will have on your same outfit.

*DRUMROLL PLEASE*
1. You don’t find inspiration for your style in every person, place and thing you encounter. One of my favorite quotes is from the late, great CoCo Chanel, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
If at least two of these apply to you, you’re not as stylish as you think! No worries because you too have blessed by God with a wonderful talent...it's just not being stylish! Fall back and we'll (the stylish ones) take it from here!
