GIRLS! Yep we run the world, hip hop style. No Minaj is NOT the hottest female rapper in the game! You may remember Nitty Scott from this year's BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher. We heard of Rapsody through her song called, "So Be It", which features one of our most favorite music artists, Big K.R.I.T.
These female MCs are creating major buzz in the underground music world because of their raw lyrical talent. There's no candy-coated, sexy outfits, gimmicky rhymes or over-the-top hairstyles for these chicks!
Rapsody hails from the good, ol' state of North Carolina! Shout out to NC! Her southern drawl, coupled with her storytelling rhymes make us feel right at home when we listen. Check out her video for the 9th Wonder produced track, "A Crush Groove".
Nitty Scott is a NY based artist who has the looks of Halle Berry but a lyrical talent that can definitely be compared to a veteran in the game, MC Lyte. Nitty focuses on message-driven music and her mission statement is "to be apart of a movement and not an industry." Check out the video for her single, "Tell Somebody".
